ArtWalk Extra

[ 中文 ]

ArtWalk Extra promotes Hong Kong and invited artists whose work can be seen on ArtWalk night while walking from gallery to gallery on Hong Kong's historic streets and back alleys.

ArtWalk Extra artists
The following will be situated around the streets of SOHO & Sheung Wan:

Damon Tong, Stephanie Sin & Timothy Zau - will give a live performance cleaning the windows of each ArtWalk participating gallery. A certificate for “giving art a clearer view” will be given to each gallery.

HK Baptist University Master of Visual Arts students – a group of 12 students will hand out free ‘fun’ cards based on the artwork of Hong Kong artists.

Hong Kong New Musical Ensemble (HKNME) & Friends - as part of the ‘John Cage 2012 Centenary’, a series of musical performances, including works by John Cage (whose 100th birthday anniversary is in 2012), will be performed around Central by local composers/musicians reflecting on Cage’s output.

LawnMap – is a group that promotes grassed outdoor areas in Hong Kong. LawnMap will set-up grassed areas (an “alternative urban scenery”) around SOHO and invite ArtWalk participants to enjoy – temporarily – a rare ‘grassed’ area in Central with their invited friends (including the Street Art Movement and indie musicians).

Sushan Chan - will set-up an interactive sculpture similar to costume cut-outs traditionally seen in fun fairs and playgrounds (bring a camera to take a photograph of yourself!).

William Lane – member of the HKNME, ‘Hawker Street Music (2012)’, a collection of videos and sound recordings of Hong Kong street musicians, will be shown on a moveable trolley during ArtWalk.

Woofer Ten – is a community group of artists currently based at the Shanghai Street Art Space. Woofer Ten artist members will lead groups of Yau Ma Tei residents around ArtWalk galleries. Likewise, please visit Woofer Ten in Yau Ma Tei.
